Bald Eagle feeding at Williams Lake

Bald Eagle Stops for Lunch at Williams Lake

This bald eagle was seen feeding at Williams Lake at the end of September. Bald Eagles are occasionally seen throughout the year around the lake, but rarely “pose” for photographs while devouring prey on the rocks.

The distance was too great and the telephoto lens too short to see whether lunch was a fish or small mammal, but the bird spent several minutes enjoying the meal.

The sequence of photos show the great sweep of wings and tail as it flew off across the lake.
