“We’re really lucky, you know.”
Jane Redmond Gallinaugh

Jane felt lucky to live on Williams Lake. She would tell you just how lucky we all were to live so close to such a beautiful body of water. She created a welcoming home on Williams Lake for her family and friends. She also contributed her intelligence, talents and humour to serving as a member of the board of directors of the Williams Lake Conservation Company.

Jane not only brought insightful and progressive ideas, she designed our original social media tool – the newsletter. Her practical and stylish layout of our news bulletin connected our members, the public and surrounding communities to WLCC’s conservation efforts to protect the lake she loved.

“During her time on the executive, Jane was an enthusiastic participant in all our activities and took on the task of re-designing our annual WLCC newsletter. She gave us the benefit of her graphic background and artistic flair to make it attractive as well as informative. We still use her templates. She was such a lovely person, always smiling and full of fun. Such a loss,’ recounts Dr. Melanie Dobson, long-term member of the board of directors of WLCC.

Anne von Maltzahn, a seasoned volunteer and Honorary Director worked with Jane during her tenure on the board and says, “I remember many happy meetings with Jane. She was so creative and forward-looking. She contributed so much to the WLCC.”

Jane gave her unwavering positivity and energy selflessly to WLCC because she understood the critical and central role volunteer boards play in creating a vibrant community. She believed in the importance of protecting and conserving the environment we are all lucky enough to share.

WLCC is grateful for Jane’s insightful perspectives, talented gifts and unwavering positivity. We are all lucky to have known her.
