Declining Water Levels in Williams Lake – Staff Report

West end of Williams Lake Sept 2020
West end of Williams Lake Sept 2020

The Environment and Sustainability Standing Committee (ESSC) will review the Staff Report in response to Councillor Shawn Cleary’s motion on the remediation of the Williams Lake Dam. The ESSC will meet this Thursday, 3rd February, 2022 to review the report and recommendations.

Call to Action

Here’s where we need your support. The WLCC feels that a report on declining water levels that gives no consideration to climate change or the impact of development in Williams Lake’s extensive watershed is incomplete at best and at worst misleading. There are concerns about the availability of public access when levels leave popular entry points high and dry.

No doubt you will have your own concerns and opinion upon reading the report below.

The ESSC Meeting Agenda is here.

“Changing climate and development in the area were reviewed and were not found to have significant impact on water levels.”
