Join Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) staff as they lead citizens out into the future Halifax Wilderness Park to take part in the City Nature Challenge. This Challenge engages people and cities across the world to see who can make the most observations, who can find the most species and who can engage the most people. Anyone can take part, no matter your level (or lack) of expertise.

Williams Lake Backlands  Short-listed for Cougar Re-introduction Program

The Williams Lake Backlands may play a crucial role in an exciting wildlife program – the re-introduction of the eastern cougar to central Nova Scotia. Spearheaded by the Cougar Foundation, in consultation with the Maritime Wildlife Federation, the idea for the program came together quickly. Said Richard Painter of the Cougar Federation, “we were looking for suitable habitat, and the federation saw the need for a native predator in the environment”.
