Construction of the north wing-wall side of the new Williams Lake dam.
September 22, 2026
The north-wing wall is finished, covered in white plastic in the background, and is made of compacted clay and earth. The huge wrap of white plastic protects it from erosion. It will be landscaped with native plants in the spring.
The middle section is the spillway and the first pour of cement is in place and teams are now focused on the south-wing wall of the dam. The rebar in the long concrete wall adds strength and will eventually be covered with earth, landscaped and disappear. You will only see the two-tiered spillway.
Pumping will continue as rain events raise the level of the lake and you will continue to see variations as weather impacts the lake levels.
Construction crews are aiming to complete the dam by the new year.
