Join Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) staff as they lead citizens out into the future Halifax Wilderness Park to take part in the City Nature Challenge. This Challenge engages people and cities across the world to see who can make the most observations, who can find the most species and who can engage the most people. Anyone can take part, no matter your level (or lack) of expertise.

Our Friends in and about Williams Lake have been working hard to reassemble the Committee addressing Williams Lake water levels (aka Dam Committee) and has issued the following announcement on the Pine Bluff Facebook group’s website. We were invited to include it on our WLCC website which we are happy to do, with thanks to the Pine Bluff folks for their continued work.

Good Robot, a microbrewery at 2736 Robie Street, is holding a fundraising event in support of the project on February 18, noon until midnight. They will donate $1 from every beer sold to the Park and a good time for all participants is guaranteed.

The use of road salt on driveways and front door paths is bad for the lake… consider alternatives. Some prefer sand (not sharp-edged grit that can damage floors) and shoveling can reduce the need for even that.
