We’re making massive progress towards the establishment of an urban wilderness park in the Purcell’s Cove/Williams Lake Backlands. Read about the critical steps required to move this project forward.
The Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) has proposed a 379-acre (153-hectare) urban wilderness park in the Williams Lake area of Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM), bordering on the Purcell’s Cove Backlands.
“…Generations before us left their legacy in the form of the Public Gardens, Point Pleasant Park and Shubie Park—green spaces that give HRM its special character, and enrich everyone’s quality of life. The urban wilderness park at Williams Lake is an opportunity to create a new legacy.”
