You can help create an urban wilderness park in the Halifax Regional Municipality: The Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) has proposed a 379-acre (153-hectare) urban wilderness park in the Williams Lake area of Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM), bordering on the Purcell’s Cove Backlands.
“…Generations before us left their legacy in the form of the Public Gardens, Point Pleasant Park and Shubie Park—green spaces that give HRM its special character, and enrich everyone’s quality of life. The urban wilderness park at Williams Lake is an opportunity to create a new legacy.”
As many of you know, the proposal recently received unanimous support from Halifax Regional Council to move forward to a public consultation in the community. The session will outline the proposal and ask for comments.
