Established in 1968 for the Preservation of Williams Lake
Thanks to Evan Ross for taking charge of the annual lake clean-up this morning. In addition to pails of debris the impressive haul included old stubby beer bottles, broken glass, clothing (what did they go home in?), some large heavy metal drain grids and the inevitable rubber tire.
This week sees the publication of the Williams Lake Conservation Company’s latest water levels report. The graph shows changes in levels from May to October, for 2005 and for years 2010-2016.

Halifax staff had presented a report to Council on Friday, with the recommendation to approve a proposal by the Nature Conservancy of Canada to acquire almost 400 acres of land in the Williams Lake Backlands and set it aside indefinitely as a wilderness preserve. Council had this item on its agenda for the September 20 sitting.
