The Williams Lake Conservation Conservation Company (WLCC) is asking for your support. A proposed zoning change in the area of Catamaran Ponds, Spryfield, is under consideration by the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM). On behalf of Halifax residents who enjoy these lakes, the WLCC is raising the issue of how development next to the ponds will degrade water quality and disrupt water flow to the lakes.
Here are details of a proposed development at Catamaran Pond that the Williams Lake Conservation Company believe may impact the quality of the Williams Lake watershed. The WLCC will be sending in our position on the proposed development before February 26 and we will post that when finalised.
The presentation slides are available here and some video of the AGM will be publicly available soon. There will be an announcement on our Facebook page and Twitter. Please check back again soon.
The WLCC and the Williams Lake Dam Association folks hiked into the Colpitt Lake, Governor’s Brook area to view the condition of streams vital to the lake levels. This video was shot after the Fall rains when the outflow was running strong.
Our Fall 2020 Newsletter is now available! It includes updates on the dam & water level issues, land up for sale for development adjacent to the Shaw Wilderness Park, a consideration of True Common Wealth, and an appeal for members and volunteers.
